It’s a New Year’s Dinosaur Invasion with Raging Rex Slot

New year, new online slots! Play’n GO releases Raging Rex Online Slot.

The very first digital slot machine release of the new year has arrived. No doubt, the online casino software industry was battling behind the scenes to earn that title. The honor goes to Play’n GO, who launched their latest creation, the Raging Rex Slot, early this morning.

Raging Rex isn’t exactly the embodiment of New Year’s celebrations, but it’s got a fun motif with some interesting features in the mix. The theme isn’t a new one, either. Its imagery includes an assortment of dinosaurs and small, amber-encased creatures. Considering the success of the Jurassic film series, who can blame digital slots firms for making so many? Besides, there are plenty of worse themes that have been over-done in the past. In this case, we’ll try to look at quality over quantity in our…

Raging Rex Online Slot Review

Raging Rex is a super-sized 6*4 reel slot with up to 4,096 ways to win. It’s got a high variance, best suited for players with enough time and money to wait out infrequency of wins for lucrative feature payouts. Suffice to say, it’s not for everyone. If you enjoy consistent, low-grade payouts, this one might not be for you.

The game’s main characters, and highest paying symbols, include the Raptor, Dilophosaurus, Triceratops and Parasaurolophus. The lower paying variety are colorful encasements containing small critters, like a lizard, dragon fly, scorpion, beetle, spider and, of course, mosquito.

The T-Rex is the Wild in Raging Rex. He won’t do anything special in the base game, outside of the usual substitution of standard symbols. At random, however, Raging Rex’s Rampage feature can activate. He’ll appear as a fully stacked wild on any reel, initiating a free re-spin as he moves left one space. Re-spins continue until he reaches the left-most reel.

Raging Spins Feature

The Meteor is the Scatter, and will award 8, 15, 20 or 30 Raging Spins free games when 3, 4, 5 or 6 appear anywhere on the reels at once. An additional 5, 8, 15 or 20 free spins are awarded if 2, 3, 4 or 5+ scatters appear during free games. There’s no limit to the number of free spins that can be awarded.

When a new Raging Spins feature triggers, players are instantly guaranteed to win a minimum 5x the triggering bet. Before the free games can begin, the player will choose what feature to imbue the reels with—Wild Hunt or Primal Rage.

The Wild Hunt feature will produce more wilds on the reels during free games. Each wild can carry a random multiplier. Multipliers will combine for up to 243x per spin.

In Primal Rage, the wild T-Rex will appear as a stacked symbol on one random reel with each spin.

Graphically, Play’n GO did a great job, as usual, with its new online slots theme. Raging Rex is designed for optimal performance on PC, mobile and tablet. It offers a bet range of $0.20 to $100 per spin, with a max payout of 500,000 coins and an average RTP of 96.34%. You’ll find it appearing live today at Play’n GO powered online casinos.
